Remediation Success for Tug

By August 31, 2020 No Comments

This tug made a big impression when she was returned to service in Dampier recently. Extensive preservation and maintenance works conducted on the OITA Tug during her scheduled 10 year docking at the BAE  Systems shipyards in Henderson left the OITA  looking as good as new alongside other vessels in the Rio Tinto fleet.

The remediation contract awarded to Orontide saw our Industrial Services crews commended for their work on the service vessel with excellent feedback received from site regarding the quality of workmanship.  Our painting crew in particular were praised for their preparation, attention to detail and pride in their work to deliver an exceptional painting finish.

The comprehensive scope of works included full external preservation of the superstructure, hull above waterline, hull below waterline, decks, bulwarks, winches and mast, as well as isolated repairs to six tank internals.

Tasked with the largest scope of works, our painting team took charge of the vessel working closely with our Clients and other Contractors to co-ordinate all tasks involved and keep the project schedule on track.
